Sequin Scarf

i cannot wait. two more weeks~*

finished piano lessons for the week. i have 4 wednesday students that did not come today, for various reasons... all the other lessons went well, though, and i'm very excited about the fact that i will be teaching a 3 year-old boy and a 17 year-old guy back-to-back . the elder of the two is my new student, timothy. i am, quite frankly, surprised. a high-school senior w/ a parttime job AND an offensive and defensive starting position on his high-school football team actually wanted to take piano from me. i'm impressed w/ his willingness to learn and look forward to the progress he'll make this year. and i'm hoping that charlie (3-year-old) was just tired today b/c he stayed up too late last night at his grandmothers', and not b/c we scheduled his lesson at a bad time of day. little kid got up after 20 minutes and insisted on leaving. i let him go.

i looked at a professional photographers' website today w/ momma. we both sensed that my work was at least on par w/ what i saw, if not maybe/kinda/sorta better. i don't know. one day my mind's eye and technical ability will meld into something truly creative. and perhaps i need to learn some marketing skills.

the other day at cameras brookwood, i picked up a *samford after sundown* brochure (for continuing education classes in specific areas, as well as online courses). i had only glanced at it b/f today, though momma had read it and mentioned it to me a few times... today i got a mailing about adult ballet classes at briarwood (where i took lessons as a child, and will be going for Bible class on wednesdays. samford is where i went swing dancing last year)... talking w/ momma and daddy about ballet lessons, i decided to wait a semester, then we discussed the opportunities at samford. it looks like i may take a  monday night class for black and white photography (the first in a series for certification), and possibly, *conversational italian*. i am a happy girl. i need to stretch myself in these areas, and i can't wait to jump into these opportunities.

i havn't mentioned him recently, but i have a lovely~* boyfriend. he reads me poetry, and sends me photos of datsun hatchbacks for sale on e-bay.

SONNET 116

Let me not to the marriage of true minds

Admit impediments. Love is not love

Which alters when it alteration finds,

Or bends with the remover to remove:

O no! it is an ever-fixed mark

	That looks on tempests and is never shaken;

It is the star to every wandering bark,

Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.

Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks

Within his bending sickle's compass come:

Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,

But bears it out even to the edge of doom.

If this be error and upon me proved,

I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

			 William Shakespeare

God rewards those who seek Him. Not those who seek doctrine or religion or systems or creeds. Many settle for these lesser passions, but the reward goes to those who settle for nothing less than Jesus Himself. And what is the reward? What awaits those who seek Jesus? Nothing short of the heart of Jesus.

~Martin Luther
